I made a recording! It starts a little shakily, but don’t be put off: I settled in after a couple of minutes. I’m still learning how to do voice recordings well – and this is using my laptop’s inbuilt microphone. More importantly, here’s the subject:
What does the Atonement of Jesus Christ mean for me, daily? How does His work most help me? Well, besides giving me everything, it gives me grace – the power to overcome the world. My world is the circumstances I find myself in which I do not want (beyond the good ones). My own self – fragile, changeable, weak, fearful. That grace is what gives me the strength to truly be better, and by that to overcome my circumstances. Not by making them easier, but by making myself independent of them, in how I choose to act. Any other choice gives them power over me. Choosing something different gives me the power.
You can play the track at the link below (which will take you to Sound Cloud):

What underlies your greatest testimony of the Plan of Salvation/Jesus Christ/eternal things?
I’ve been thinking of starting a podcast for some time, but I’m not very good at speaking clearly for microphones, especially when I’m nervous. Well done!
Thanks – it is a little bit scary recording yourself, because you want what you say to be polished, but it’s different to writing, which you can edit until you’re happy with it. You’ll always end up saying some things a little differently, or off the cuff, or making mistakes. But I think people like hearing a voice as well; it feels a little more personal and real.
I can imagine. I might try that at some point all the same.
