She felt herself inadequate,
clumsy, unable to succeed;
always making wrong steps,
saying wrong things;
not being who she wanted to be.
“If thou canst do any thing…”,
she pleaded with the Lord;
and He did every thing:
slowly, quietly, in a way
she couldn’t see.
His power and grace
seeped down through her life
and gathered in her soul
like water through soil.
Her weak and messy parts
drew gradual strength,
healing, straightening
little by little, breath by breath.
And her soul grew tall and noble.
