Wise words from Samuel the Lamanite that describe our day

Samuel’s words to the Nephites in Zarahemla are some of my favourite in the Book of Mormon. I find the turn of language he uses evocative, rich, and just wonderful. One of the most important things we must learn to do in this life is to judge correctly between good and evil. The scriptures which say not … Continue reading Judging: it’s essential, not forbidden

Courage, freedom, expediency and sanctification. (Some more scriptural faves)

The reason I love this scripture is for its evocation, again, of the basic theme of the Book of Mormon records: agency, choice and freedom. Our obligation to seek and know the truth, and act according to it. Continue reading Courage, freedom, expediency and sanctification. (Some more scriptural faves)
